Der eine, in Frankreich lebend ist ein Komponist der Farben, dessen Werke eine ungeheure Kraft, Energie und Dynamik ausstrahlen, was eine logische Manifestation seiner Malweise ist, denn Michel Loth malt immer in einem Zug durch, ohne im Nachhinein etwas auszubessern. Wir sehen organische Formen, die durch knalliges (an Blut erinnerndes) Rot, durch warmes Gelb und kühles Himmelblau das Gemälde zu pulsierendem Leben erwecken.
Der andere Raffaele Minotto verwendet in jedem Bild natürliches Licht, das er stets durch ein bezeichnetes Fenster einfallen lässt. Dieses helle, gleißende Licht durchflutet den Raum wie gebündelte Energie und scheint den abstrakt aufgebauten, doch konkret wirkenden Motiven die sich im Schatten des Innenraumes fast verbergen, einen transzendentalen Touch zu geben.
Der junge, in Berlin lebende Künstler Clemens Krauss überrascht diesmal mit seinem Interventionsmodell Toponymics: er initiiert die Umbenennung des Grazer Hauptplatzes. Nach eingehender Forschungsarbeit über die Bedeutung eines Platzes in der Innenstadt und über seinen Namen, hat Krauss nicht nur eine nachvollziehbare Argumentation entwickelt, sondern auch eine Gruppe prominenter Mitstreiter für die Idee gewinnen können. Graz sei, so Krauss, eben nicht Provinzstadt genug und müsste, um dem Selbstverständnis einer Kulturstadt gerecht zu werden, sich ernsthaft mit der Frage der Benennung eines der wichtigsten Plätze der Stadt auseinandersetzen. Der Zeitpunkt erscheint günstig. Der Platz wurde neu gestaltet, eine Neubewertung ist im Gange. Im Verhältnis zum Alter des Innenstadtkernes trägt der Hauptplatz seinen Namen eine verhältnismäßig kurze Zeit. Die Frage überwindet zudem das Vakuum nach 2003. Wesentlich in der Diskussion ist - nach Krauss - nicht, wie der Platz neu benannt werden soll, sondern vielmehr: Wird der Name "Hauptplatz" diesem wichtigen Platz einer Kulturstadt noch gerecht?

Following intensive research work on the meaning of a square in the city center and on its name, Krauss developed not only a comprehensible argumentation, he was also able to win over a group of prominent supporters for the idea. Graz, according to Krauss, is specifically not enough of a provincial town and must seriously consider renaming one of the most important locations in the city in order to do justice to its own self-understanding as a Cultural City. The time appears ripe. The square has been redesigned and is in the process of being newly valued. In comparison with the age of the core of the city center, the main square has only been so named for a relatively short period. The issue also overcomes the vacuum after 2003. What is essential to the discussion - according to Krauss - is not what the new name of the square should be, but rather the question: Does the name "Main Square" still do justice to this most important square of a Cultural City?
