Aus leider immer wieder gegebenem Anlass und angeregt durch die Ausstellung M_ARS in der Neuen Galerie am Landesmuseum Joanneum haben wir unsere reichen Grafikbestände durchforstet und die zum Thema passenden Blätter wollen wir ohne Kommentar zur Anregung und Diskussion stellen. Die historische Betrachtungsweise zeigt, dass die Problematik immer ähnlich war, eine künstlerische Auseinandersetzung jedoch durch die Art des Zugangs, Ideologie und Zensur eine sehr subtile Sprache entwickelt hat. Das Nachdenken und die Reflexion zu diesem Thema wollen wir ganz bewusst jedem selbst überlassen. Wir zeigen eine Fülle grafischer Blätter von circa 1600 bis heute in Holzschnitt, Kupferstich, Radierung und Lithographie sowie einige ausgewählte Zeichnungen.

For reasons that are unfortunately repeatedly familiar to us all, and inspired by the exhibition M_ARS at the Neue Galerie at the Landesmuseum Joanneum, we have gone through our rich stock of graphic works and would now like to present those relevant to this theme, without commentary, to stimulate discussion. The historical view shows that this problematic issue has always been similar, but an artistic exploration has developed a very subtle language through the type of approach, ideology and censorship. We consciously intend to leave it up to each individual to think about and reflect on this theme themselves. We show an abundance of graphic works from about 1600 to the present in woodcut, copper engraving, etching, lithography and several selected drawings.
