die WERKSTADT GRAZ bietet mit dem aktuellen beitrag MOBILBOX eine substantiell inhaltliche und dadurch auch räumliche erweiterung des im Jahr 2000 begründeten afrikanischen kunstprojektes TERANGA RESTAURANT. mit dem kunstpreis des landes steiermark 2001 ausgezeichnet, führt die WERKSTADT GRAZ mit ihrem "engagierten und profilierten" programm weiterhin "expeditionen" in unterschiedlich medial gebaute räume durch. für die vorliegende MOBILBOX bedeutet dies eine architektonische ausdehnung in den öffentlichen raum und in die denkräume zum thema: asylpolitik, menschenrechte, grundbedürfnisse, u.a.m. das "mobile restaurant" entwickelt sich über die grazer galerienorte und verzweigungen entlang der international dimensionierten kommunikationswege auch in telematische bereiche.
die so handhabbare MOBILBOX ermöglicht über den geografischen und persönlichen standpunkt hinaus eine ERINNERUNGSBOX mit operativem charakter, um der welt (wider-)stand zu halten.

With its current event MOBILBOX the WERKSTADT GRAZ offers a programme of substantial contents which - also in terms of space - is an extension of the African art project TERANGA RESTAURANT which was started in 2000. The WERKSTADT GRAZ, which has won the Art Award 2001 of the Province of Styria, continues its "committed and profiled programme" to conduct further "expeditions" in various spaces specially designed for the use of different media.
As far as the current project MOBILBOX is concerned, this means that there will be an architectural extension into public space and into dimensions of thought to cover the following issues: asylum politics, human rights, fundamental needs and many others. Via the gallery venues in Graz and the ramifications of international communication paths the "mobile restaurant" also extends to the dimension of telematics.
Leading towards more than just a geographical and personal approach the MOBILBOX, which may be used in the above way, is a MEMORY BOX of an operative kind to face the world with either resistance or insistence.
